This original work brings together digital design, contemporary technology, and traditional artmaking. The ornamental forms begin as my own designs, created digitally on the computer and then precisely cut with a laser. I incorporated them into a hand-painted mixed-media surface filled with expressive layers of deep plum, espresso brown, copper, bronze, and black.

The contrast between the weathered painted surface and the precisely designed dimensional forms explores the relationship between symmetry and movement, warmth and shadow, technology and craftsmanship.
