This original work brings together traditional art-making and contemporary technology. The ornamental elements begin as my own digital designs, created on the computer and then precisely cut with a laser. I incorporate these dimensional forms into a richly textured, hand-painted mixed-media surface.

The contrast between the precise laser-cut designs and the expressive, imperfect painted background allows the work to move between old-world ornament and contemporary abstraction—blending technology, craftsmanship, and the artist's hand.
