This original work combines digital design, contemporary technology and traditional artmaking. The dimensional ornamental elements begin as my own designs, created digitally on the computer and then precisely cut with a laser. I incorporate these forms into a richly layered, hand-painted mixed-media surface.

Warm ochres, turquoise, rust and charcoal create a distressed, weathered patina, while the sweeping ornamental forms introduce structure and movement. The work explores the relationship between precision and spontaneity, technology and craftsmanship, and contemporary abstraction and timeless ornamental design.
