This original work brings together digital design, contemporary technology, and traditional artmaking. The ornamental forms begin as my own designs, created digitally on the computer and then precisely cut with a laser. I incorporate them into a hand-painted mixed-media surface filled with expressive layers of aqua, lavender, warm gold, cream, and black.

The contrast between the flowing painted surface and the precisely designed dimensional forms explores the relationship between softness and strength, spontaneity and structure, technology and craftsmanship.
