This original work brings together digital design, contemporary technology, and traditional art-making. The ornamental forms begin as my own designs, created digitally on the computer and then precisely cut with a laser. I incorporate them into a hand-painted mixed-media surface filled with expressive layers of copper, rust, amber, umber, muted teal, and deep charcoal tones.

The contrast between the flowing painted surface and the precisely designed dimensional forms explores the relationship between warmth and shadow, spontaneity and structure, technology and craftsmanship.
